This is my 50th post on this blog about the ‘Corpocracy’. And the funny thing is; I still don’t know where this whole project is going. I started this blog to write in public about my character Deleria who lives in the corpocracy in 2074.
But science fiction is much harder writing (and reading) than fiction and non-fiction. So before I can write a credible story I need to do thorough research – preferably scientific. That’s what I am exploring now. And actually I love it, because today’s reality is not as far removed from my future scenario as I thought.
My proposal to research how ‘democratic’ companies are has been welcomed by journalists and scientists. Please correct me if I am wrong, but in my small country no one seems to have attacked this topic yet. That in itself is very remarkable. Maybe it’s because entrepreneurs don’t like politics or because politicians do not want to become entrepreneurs. Not sure, but I do like mixing disciplines.
So now I must read a pile of books about the financial crisis, corporate governance, the stakeholder theory and cooperations. Deleria will have to be patient.
